Your 2-day private tour to Luxor begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Hurghada. Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt. With pre-purchased tickets to avoid long lines, you’ll explore this sprawling open-air museum with your expert guide. Your guide will share the fascinating history and significance of Karnak.
Afterward, we’ll visit the renowned Luxor Temple, a sacred site built during the New Kingdom by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. The Luxor Temple was the center of the great Opet festival and was dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Learn more about the ancient rituals performed in this temple as you wander through its majestic halls.
You will be picked up from your hotel in the early morning between 4:00 and 5:30 a.m. and, depending on the option booked, will travel in an air-conditioned and comfortable sedan or van. Naturally, we offer our usual excellent service! To give you a boost for the day, we will treat you to a selection of snacks, a Coke, and three bottles of water in the morning. DAY ONE - EAST LUXOR During the 160-kilometer drive through the eastern desert, you will experience impressive mountain ranges reminiscent of the Alps around 7:00 a.m. Along the way, we will make a short stop at a Bedouin village where you can get a drink and use the restroom. At the end of the desert stretch, the green Nile Valley will appear, and you will continue for another 60 kilometers on the highway to Luxor. DAY ONE - EAST LUXOR During the 160-kilometer drive through the eastern desert, you will experience impressive mountain ranges reminiscent of the Alps around 7:00 a.m. You will arrive in Luxor around 10:00 AM and first visit the Karnak Temple complex, the largest temple complex in the world, famous for its impressive hypostyle hall and the Sacred Lake. Afterward, you will travel by van to the centrally located Luxor Temple, near the famous Abu el-Hagag Mosque. During this time, you have the option of taking a traditional boat trip on the Nile or a horse-drawn carriage ride through Luxor Market (if selected as an option or extra). In the east, you will enjoy a well-deserved lunch at an Egyptian restaurant, where you can sample local dishes. Afterward, the bus will take you to your 4-star hotel overlooking the Nile, where you can relax and enjoy dinner (included in the price). If desired, you can experience the mesmerizing sound and light show at Karnak Temple in the evening (one hour) and take a horse-drawn carriage ride through Luxor Market (if selected as an option or extra). On the second day, at dawn, you have the opportunity to take part in a breathtaking hot air balloon tour. Soaring high in the sky, you can experience the stunning sunrise and admire the impressive colors of the Egyptian landscape (provided this option or an extra has been selected). DAY TWO - WEST LUXOR After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, the second day of your trip begins with an exciting drive to Thebes West, where you will explore Egypt's legendary sights. Your first stop is the famous tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs. Here, in the Valley of the Kings, you will have the opportunity to discover the final resting place of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the ancient Egyptian rulers. Next, you will visit the impressive terraced temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most important rulers in Egyptian history. Admire the breathtaking architecture and stunning scenery that make this place an unforgettable experience.... The next stop is the majestic Colossi of Memnon, the colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These impressive monuments tell stories from a bygone era and will leave you in awe. At the end of the day, you'll be taken back to your hotel with many breathtaking impressions. However we spend the day together, you're sure to create unforgettable memories!
